urine stains on red oak
Man, I’ve seen some bad stains. Urine stains, water stains, carpet padding stains, you name it. If its been on a floor, then I’ve probably sanded it. The picture above is inch and a half red oak with bad urine stains. You can see the black spots all over the place. If the stain is black, then is probably urine. If the stain is grayish, then its probably water damage. If the stain is orange, then run! Just kidding about the orange. You can do three things when you have stains. First option is to leave them. Just sand and hope for the best. Second you can stain the floor a darker color to conceal the stains. This works and we have done it a lot. Third, you can remove the wood and patch the spot. That is the only true way to eliminate the stains completely. If you have a floor sanding project in Golden Valley give us a call. We can help you out.
