St Paul Floor Sanding Newer Maple Floors

Newer Maple Floors and water base finish
Above is a picture of maple hardwood floors we refinished in North Minneapolis. The floors were installed about 10-15 years ago. Notice the lack of color in the floors. Hardwood floors age just like people do. A 30 year old man doesn’t look the same as he did when he was 15 years old. He might have less hair on his head, his skin has wrinkled a bit, and he probably is not as flexible physically. When maple floors age they tend to darken. The wood will have an almost yellowish tint. Sunlight, moisture, air exposure, polyurethane, can all affect the appearance of the wood. Even after you refinish the floor and expose bare wood the floor could, and most the time will have age marks.

Cher can get a facelift when she is 60 years old, but she will never look like she did when she was 20. If you have any questions about refinishing your maple or oak floors or you need an estimate on a job, then give us a call. Thanks a lot.
