Oak Floors North Minneapolis Refinishing

Maple Floors with a Natural Oil Base Finish

Maple Floors with a Natural Oil Base Finish

Today we sanded a oak floor in North Minneapolis.  It was a odd two story house that was built in about 1940.  There were two bedrooms upstairs, a little den area and the remodeler had added a bathroom.  They sanded up pretty good.  Tomorrow we’ll sand the downstairs which is combination of maple in the living and dining room, and oak in the bedroom.  I think those floors will sand up pretty nicely too.  The job is off of 53rd Ave N and highway 94.  We’ve sanded a lot of houses over there in North.  I like those floors in that area because most of the houses were built in the 1940s and 1950s and the foundations haven’t settled too much yet.  This makes it a lot easier to sand.  Also, I like sanding oak hardwood floors because we don’t have to water pop them and I think there a little softer then maple.  Overall, oak is just easier to sand. The picture above is actually a maple floor, but I really like this picture and I remember the job.  I think we did it about two years ago.  My customer, she bought is as a foreclosure.  I think she got it for about $25,000, which is a steal and we don’t ever really see those prices now.  It needed a lot of work, but what can you expect for $25,000.  After she got the floors done everything changed.  The house felt so much better.  If you want to try refinishing you’re hardwood floors yourself, then check out Home Depot.  They have the floor sanding rental equipment you will need. We do a lot of hardwood floor refinishing in Minneapolis, Edina, St Paul, and Bloomington.  If you want our advice on a project you got, then give us a call.
