How To: Maple Hardwood Floors Los Angeles California

Maple floors are tough to sand.  There are a lot of reasons why, but there just not a easy to sand as oak hardwood floors.  First maple floors show more sanding marks. When you start sanding with your machines you use a low grit paper that is very corse so you can get the finish off the wood.  Then on your next cut you use a finer grit paper that will erase the corse marks from the previous paper.  You a few more cuts, scrape the corners and along the baseboards, buff out the floors with a 16 inch buffer and then your ready to coat.  However, when your floor sanding in Los Angeles you need to water pop maple floors before you put the coats down.  Water popping literally involves mopping the floor with water, letting it dry, and then the floors are ready to coat.  This will raise the grains and open the pores in the wood so you get a better look.  If you have hardwood floors in Burbank Los Angeles give us a call and we can give you some more information and a price.
