1950's Oak Hardwood Floors Refinished Oil Base

The great thing about oak floors is they are beautiful!!!  Look at these.  This house was built in the 1950s.  The oak just needed a good sand and refinish.  A now they are like a work of art. I don’t know how many times I’ve gone into house, the hardwoods are dirty, nasty, and just ugly.  Then we come in, sand, clean them up and put a few coats down.  Boom, they look brand new, but even better because they have aged some so they got character.  I wish I had the before picture on this one.  I always forget to take a before picture because we are setting up our equipment and I am in the zone and want to get working.  Plus I am thinking these floor look like crap.  It’s not until after and I see how beautiful they look do I remember to take an after picture.  Another good quality about oak hardwood floors is they hide imperfections well.  There area a lot of grain patterns in the wood so when you sand any light sanding marks or light stains can be concealed easier then maple floors or douglas fur wood.  If you have a really dark red finish on the floor that looks old be extra careful when sanding.  It is probably going to be thick and gum up your paper fast.  If you rent a Clarke Sander from Home Depot their drum sander will probably not do the job very well.  Or you will be spending a lot of extra money on sand paper.  That red finish is super thick.  Even my 220 drum sander can get clogged up sometimes.  If you got about 400 square feet of that most of the time it is cheaper to just pay a professional.  Plus it is almost always going to look a lot better.  Los Angeles hardwood floor refinishing is our specialty.  So call us today!
