Garfield and 35th Ave S Hardwood Floors Before Refinished Minneapolis
We did these floors off Garfield Ave S in Uptown Minneapolis and 34th Ave last week. We refinished a living and dining room, with a kitchen. As you can see the floors were pretty beat up. They had just gotten darker over time from wear and tear. You can see that I started cutting up the floor and it came up pretty clean after the first cut. We cut it three times, edged it out three times, hand scraped, sanded under the radiators with a radiator sander, and then put three coats of finish down. We used an oil base finish like usual. The kitchen had maple flooring, which we ended up water popping.

After Refinish Oak floors 1930s.
You can see how they turned out after we coated them. Totally transformed the place. The whole unit felt new. The oil base finish give it a nice color and its durable too. The kitchen had so spots that were warped from water damage and started to cup in the middle. And I had to cross grain the middle of the kitchen and then come back and edge it out with a 100 and 120 grit. We refinish hardwood floors in South Minneapolis all the time so give us a call. 612-423-0202.

Hi, I was wondering what was the slat width in the example of the 30′s Red Oak Hardwood floor restoration. I grew up in old houses and I’m looking for that feel.
Thanks,
James..
Hi James,
Those are 1.5 inch red oak floors and they are 3/4 inches thick. They were very popular in homes built between the 1930s-1960s. They they can be beautiful when they get refinished. Thanks for your interest!
