Floor Sanding Chicago

Before Buff and Coat
We did a buff and coat today in North Minneapolis and Robbinsdale. Hardwood floors in Chicago look like this too though because they used the same kind of wood. A buff and coat is not a complete refinish. When we do a refinish we are sanding the finish off of the hardwood and taking off about 1/8 of an inch of wood. In contrast, when we do a buff and coat we are just buffing the finish, but not removing it. We’re just cleaning up the finish, getting dirt, gum or anything sticking to the finish off, and then polishing it up a little bit. After that, we vacuum the floor, tac cloth it and then put a coat of oil poly down. If you want extra protection you can put an another coat down for an extra charge. You can see the difference in the pictures. As you can tell, the difference is not as dramatic as a complete refinish, but it does improve the look. In this house the refinish would of cost $875, but the buff and coat was only $200. So its cheaper, but doesn’t look as good. We do floor sanding in Chicago so give us a call if you have any questions. Thanks.
