First Cut on Floor Sanding St Paul MN

First Cut on Body of Floor and Edge
I decided to show another picture of a first cut on a maple floor we sanded last week in Richfield. This house was a little unusual because it was built in 1920 and had maple floors. Most houses in Richfield were built in the 1950s and have 1.5 inch red oak. It was a really small house, just one bedrooms and a living room. But once we got the floors sanded they looked a lot better. You can see along the perimeter is sanded also. We edged with a 24 grit, then hand scraped. Some guys don’t hand scrap that 1/8 of an inch along the baseboards but it just doesn’t look as good. Whenever I sand maple floors I always water pop before I put the finish down. You just get a better look. I usually don’t charge extra for it, but I should because it is an extra trip to the jobsite. We do hardwood floor refinishing in St Paul. Give us a call if you have a floor sanding project in St Paul. Thanks.
