We sanded these floors at the beginning of the week in St Louis Park. It was a three bedroom rambler with a living room and a little hallway. The floors had a old finish on it that was just worn down. There really wasn’t any water or urine stains on the floor. But when we got done the floors looked amazing. See all the grains in the wood? If you see all those grains and your house was built in the 1950s-1960s, then you have oak floors. Pretty much everything around here has oak in that era. We did another house like this in Richfield later in the week, then we did a few maple floors on some older houses. One thing I hate about maple and old houses is that a lot of the times the floor is un level and there are huge gaps in the wood. We will sand them down, buff and vacuum, and there will still be crap coming out of the floor. Then you got to coat it and vacuum it again before you put the second coat down so you don’t have a lot of stuff in the finish. Before your final coat make sure you buff out the floors good and get any little thing off the floor. That is how you get a good finish. We do hardwood floor refinishing in St Louis Park so call me today!

We sanded these floors yesterday in St Paul Midway area off of Lexington and University Ave. The floors were beautiful when we were finished. I think the owners removed the carpet and there was beautiful hardwood floors underneath. We sanded them up and they cleaned up great. The living room and dining room had oak hardwood floors and then the bedrooms and hallways had maple. I think this set up is kinda cool because you get two different woods. The oak was actually white oak, which is a little darker then red oak. The bedrooms we maple and were absolutely beautiful.

Maple Hardwood Floors After Sanding St Paul MN

Look at them now. We water popped this floor and it really just evened out the finish when we put it down. It sucked up the poly a lot o the first and second coat. Then we buffed it out good with a 120 16 inch buffer screen. There was a lot of grain raise so I went over it a couple times. We did seven jobs this week. One in Burnsville, Richfield, two in South Minneapolis by Lake Nokomis, one Downtown in some apartment units, one in Northeast Minneapolis and one in North Minneapolis. That is a lot of work. But they all looked great when we were finished. We do hardwood floor refinishing in St Paul every week so call us today!

We did these oak floors in Richfield today. Actually, we sanded them yesterday and put two coats down then we came back today, buffed everything out, did touch ups and put a final coat down. Don’t they look awesome? I love oak hardwood floors. This is in a 1950s rambler in Richfield MN. Almost every house in Richfield has hardwood floors and oak hardwood floors at that. Any house built between 1940-1960 in Richfield, Bloomington, or Saint Louis Park will have a good chance of having oak hardwood floors. This is a living room and dining room. There are three bedrooms on the main level too that we sanded a few weeks ago but the owner didn’t have enough space to get everything out of the house so we made two trips. We did the bedrooms in two days, then came back a couple weeks later and did the living room and dining room. But you can see the picture. This is an natural oil base finish on red oak flooring. See the reddish tones in the wood and the light coloring of the grains? When you see that coloring you can tell that it is a natural oil base vs a water base or a stain. Water base will leave the floors a lot lighter looking. There won’t be as much color. Most people like the oil a little better so that is what we do on all most every job. We do hardwood floor refinishing in Richfield weekly so call us today!

Talk about old to new. We did these floors today in Northeast Minneapolis. It was an upper level bedroom in an old two story 1920s home. I don’t even think the floors had ever been coated. When I first saw them I thought they might be pine floors because they looked so bad. You can see how brown they were. But look at the perimeter of the floors. See how we already started sanding the edge and see how light the wood is? That is good because that means they are going to look nice when they are finished.

After Refinish Douglas Fur Minneapolis

Now look at them. Can you believe it is even the same room? Look how nice those cleaned up. Douglas fir is a very soft wood. It wasn’t really used that much. It has a very unique look to it. I think it is kinda rustic. Some people really like. Some don’t like it at all. But the refinish totally transformed the room. The key to sanding douglas fir in my opinion is to cut the edges down with a 60 plus grit sanding paper on the final cut with a sanding pad on it. The sanding pad softens the impact of the edger and you end up getting a lot better cut. We refinish hardwood floors in Northeast, South, and North Minneapolis everyday so give us a call.

Don’t these floors look beautiful? I love hardwood floors. There so much better then carpet. Their easier to clean then carpet, warmer then tile, and they just feel good in houses around Minneapolis. Hardwood floors go with everything. You can have them in kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, they used to even put them in bathrooms. I think they can look beautiful in bathrooms. Actually a lot of the newer homes built after 1990s have main level bathrooms with wood flooring. We did this floor in the picture a few months back. It was in Northeast Minneapolis. The owner is a good customer of mine who flips houses. I wish I had a before picture because the floors just looked horrible and they were only a half inch thick, if that. Which means we didn’t have much to work with. But I sanded those suckers up and boom! They look beautiful. It totally transformed the room. This was the master suite with a full bathroom and two big closets that you can’t see in the picture. But all of the sudden when we were done it just felt like a real bedroom. It is a great feeling. I got a text message the other day from a customer that said, “The floors look amazing!” Now that is what I am talking about. We refinish and sand hardwood floors in Minneapolis and St Paul so give me a call today!
