Oak Floors Refinishing Hardwood Minneapolis
Almost every time I get a call for an estimate I get this question: how much do you charge per square foot to refinish my hardwood floors? I always say it depends on the condition of the floor. I want to know what year the house was built, if it is on the first or second level, are the floors maple or oak, and what type of finish is on the wood right now? Once I know the answers to these questions I can give a better idea of how much it will cost to refinish them. Some other questions I usually ask are are there radiators in the rooms or floor vents, where is the home located, and are there urine or water damage stains on the floor? Generally, for a natural oil base finish the price is going to range from $1.50 per square foot to $3.00 per square. I know that is a big range but there are a lot of different floors that are in bad shape, good shape, OK shape. So I guess, at the end of the day I just like to see the floors before I give an exact price. Some guys will bid over the phone, and I will do that if it is just a simple bedroom, but usually there are a couple things here or that the the owner will forget to tell me or I will forget to ask and then if I show up and it is different then I thought it can just be a big pain in the butt. I thought the job was going to be easy but it ends up being really difficult and I don’t make any money. I know everybody wants a good deal and I try to provide the best deal possible, but I still need to make a little money for myself!! We refinish hardwood floors in Minneapolis so give us a call!

800 sq. ft. of 5 year old oak flooring stained golden oak.Good condition. 1st floor. Want to change finish to a darker shade. Not sure which yet. Comments on that would be appreciated. Do you also do re staining of all trim for obvious extra cost? Door,window baseboard. What about restaining kitchen cabinets. 23 years old. Worth it? Thanks. Ron
You can stain the floor a different color. Just make sure you get all of the finish off. We don’t do trim or cabinets. Floors only.
